If a disaster were to suddenly strike, would you and your family be able to leave your home in a hurry? One of the most important ways to stay safe from sudden crises is to have an emergency evacuation plan in place ahead of time. 

If you are unable to return to your home, it is crucial you take your important documents with you when you leave. Because it can be difficult to track all of these down when rushing to get out of the house, keep them together in a safe, easily accessible place.

Effective evacuation plans don’t end at the front door. Identify the place your family should meet if separated, a safe place you could stay and a few routes that could take you there.
