Car Problems That You Shouldn’t Ignore

October 25th, 2016 by

If your car has any of these problems, you should get it checked out.

When something is wrong with your car, the symptoms will not always be obvious. But just because smoke isn't pouring out from under your hood doesn't mean that you don't have a major problem.

The key to good car care is the ability to spot developing issues and addressing them before they become serious – not to mention potentially costly. Here are some problems that should catch your attention:

  • Flickering lights: Unlike the florescent lights in your home, auto headlights should not flicker. If you notice this, it could be a sign of a number of issues. You could have a problem with your wiring, or even your alternator. On the other hand, if the flicker only occurs on rough road, the bulb itself could be loose.
  • Drifting: It's easy to get used to a slight drift. You probably course correct without even thinking about it. But this isn't the kind of thing that you should leave alone. One of your tires may be underinflated, which could develop into a far more serious issue if you keep driving on it. You could also have a more serious axle problem.
  • Fluctuating temperatures: How often do you look at your temperature gauge? Probably not frequently enough. Believe it or not, this gauge may fluctuate at times, and it is a sign that something is wrong with your filtration system. As air gets into where it isn't supposed to go, it can prevent your coolant system from working properly.
