Hello, and welcome back!
For children, home is a place to learn, play, grow and explore. To promote this healthy development, it is crucial they grow up in an environment where they feel comfortable and safe. Luckily for parents, taking a few simple proactive steps can go a long way when making their homes safer for little ones.
While bath time can be fun for both parents and their babies, even just a few centimeters of water can pose a drowning hazard for small children. To reduce the risk of an accident, never leave your children unattended near water, even just for a few minutes.
Accidental falls are one of the most common sources of injuries to children. To reduce the risk of falls at home, keep stairs and hallways clear and free of clutter that could cause a child to trip and take a tumble and install safety gates to block a toddler’s access to a staircase. Also remember to keep accessible windows closed and locked, as screens are not strong enough to keep a child inside.
