[Video] 3 things to do when moving into a new home
April 7th, 2015 by admin
Moving into a new home is both exciting and daunting, but following a checklist can make the process easier. Today, we’ll cover three tasks for new homeowners.
- First, don’t forget to change the locks. To make sure you are the only one with access to your home, you can install deadbolts for around $10 a lock.
- Another thing you want to do is to fix any plumbing leaks. Your home inspector will check for issues before closing, but it’s a good idea to double-check. Make sure there are no dripping faucets, running toilets and that your water heater doesn’t have leaks.
- Finally, before you move into that new home, get rid of critters. A pest removal service normally costs $100 to $300, and is usually the most effective option.
