Many homeowners are familiar with the more common ways homeowners insurance protects you and your family. In this series, we inform you of a few less orthodox situations your homeowners insurance policy may protect against.

While most people know their homeowners policy protects their home from damaging storms, coverage doesn’t always stop at your front door. For example, did you know your garden could also be protected? 

In fact, if any of your plants, including trees and shrubs, have been damaged unintentionally, you may be covered. In the event of an especially bad storm, such as a hurricane, this added protection can let you get your garden back up and running much more quickly than you otherwise would have been able to.
